Patience will never disappoint!

I love poppies. They’re such a magnificent testimony to “the light”.
The common poppy is an annual plant. It produces seeds that can remain dormant in the soil for as long as 100 years! Without any source of light, they remain dormant. They are not dead, just hidden. Once they are exposed to the light, they grow quickly with extravagant bright red blooms.
I’ve had seasons, some lasting for years, that I felt hidden. I wondered if the dreams in my heart were really from God, when nothing seemed to change. It’s easy to fall into impatience and even sadness when things in our lives are dormant. When I’ve taken things into my own hands, and tried to hurry up the hand of God, I’ve always been disappointed -mostly in myself.
Patience, however, will never disappoint! Just like the poppy when the time is right, Jesus, The Light of the world, brings His light into our situations and suddenly the miraculous happens.
Father when I grow weary, and begin to fall into disappointment and discouragement, help me to remember the poppy. Thank You, that You speak in nature when I open my eyes to see. Thank You for the dreams You have placed in my heart. Thank You for all that You’ve taught me in my seasons of waiting. Thank You for reminding me that with You all things are possible!
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
